I saw some dude playing what I think was a Kora at the 53rd/Lex stop once. I have no idea what language he was singing in, but the power of his music pulled me into another place. There's that rare moment when you realize that this music that you're hearing isn't some prepackaged product slickly marketed, but just some dude singing and playing his soul bare.
